What Is The Bible?

One of the first things addressed when you embark on the Christian path is "What is the Bible?"

Yes, we all know that it's a Book Christians follow, don't be a smart-a**.

The Easiest Answer Comes Down To 2 Words: God's Diary

Here's a bit of a longer definition:

The Bible is a total of 66 books written by various authors (close to 40) over a period of 1,600 years (yea, seriously, I thought most books get published in 6 months!).
The Bible is split into 2 parts.

  1. The Old Testament: Followed ALSO by Judaism alongside Christians was written BEFORE the birth and teachings of Jesus Christ.
  2. The New Testament: Where Judaism and Christianity say "ta-ta, bye bye." Judaism does not follow nor recognize The New Testament. The New Testament is the written word of Jesus Christ, written by his closest disciples/apostles. The final piece of the Bible.
The Bible is thought to be ALL-True. ALL-Complete. ALL-Knowing. But most importantly, it's the direct word of God in Christianity. It's man's Blue-print. It's man's instruction manual.

WARNING:  It's one BIG book and intimidating as it's incredibly poetic. I just recently decided how to go through it. I've decided to go through a "Dramatized NIV Audio Version." It's funner. It's like listening to a play.

For someone like me with ADD - it's...well...a... God-Send ;)
